Working in the AWS AI (Artificial Intelligence) org under the Computer Vision services focused primarily on document processing services like Textract.Currently working on helping Textract prepare for 10x the scale its currently at by uncovering architectural bottlenecks & deficiencies primarily in the batch processing mode with help of a redesigned job scheduler. First set of improvements launched in mid 2021, next set are scheduled for 2022. Also, helping & guiding other senior engineers on the team on their respective launches.Parallely working on outlining a batch processing architecture that can be adopted by all Computer Vision Services and sharing the learnings with the wider AWS AI group.

Working in the AWS AI (Artificial Intelligence) org under the Computer Vision services on a new confidential AWS service scheduled for launch in re:invent 2021. Work was focused on leading & planning the launch as well as designing integrations with several other internal & external AWS services and driving consensus between said teams on integration contracts, separation of responsibilities, etc.

Worked in the AWS IoT org as the tech lead for AWS IoT Sitewise Monitor. AWS IoT Sitewise became generally available in July 2020 and Sitewise Monitor became available alongside it.Work was focussed around working with product team understanding customer pain points & use cases to come up with right technical architecture for building Sitewise Monitor as well as working with other tech leads building the other pieces that make up IoT Sitewise. Then worked with a team of 10-15 people and guided & mentored them to get Sitewise Monitor built out.Also delivered a talk in the AWS IoT group around the problems we solved around providing enterprise authorization experience on top of AWS IAM as well as providing scalable visualizatons while building AWS IoT Sitewise Monitor.

Worked in the AWS IoT org on a new client side library to create a canvas editor where customers can drag & drop and visually create complex resources without authoring any code/config and without worrying about syntax.The need for the editor came about due to the upcoming launches of AWS IoT Things Graph & AWS IoT Events where this editor will be used.This library was later open sourced on github and released on npm under the name of diagram-maker.As part of this also evangelized the usage of Cypress as a UI testing tool within Amazon and also delivered a talk in WebDevCon EU 2019 on the problems that lead us to reconsider our UI test tooling and choose Cypress. The talk is now featured under the testing section on the internal Amazon WebDevCon portal.

Working on the AWS IoT console team leading development for new features on existing console as well as building new console for AWS IoT analytics.Work was focused around building foundational pieces for speeding up console development for new features as well as newer IoT consoles. As part of team charter change, also initiated the ideas for switch to a Micro frontend architecture for the main IoT console for better separation & stronger ownership of each of the pieces of the console.

Working on the Product Detail Page team on strategic initiatives.Lead the re-design & refactor of the Product Images client side code to enable the next generation of interactive features on Amazon Product Images from several teams building on top of the Product Images widget.Lead the design & implementation of a framework for safe & quick deployment of legal disclaimers on product details page driven by configurations that could be managed by product or compliance teams. This eliminated all the 3-4 weeks developer effort needed in adding each such disclaimer.

Worked as an engineer on the Amazon Product Detail Page team. Ramped up and then owned the product images feature across all product categories, across all platforms (Web, Tablet Web, Mobile Web & Mobile App).Lead the design & implementation of a new interactive feature for product images which lets customers flick the product image which rotates the product narrowing the gap between physical & digital. The effect was created using a series of images that are swapped at the right times giving the illusion of motion. Mentored & guided other engineers to expand the features across devices.
