I enrich stories.I'm a filmmaker trained at the New York Film Academy, the Lee Strasberg Institute for Theatre, Film & TV, and Future Media Concepts in New York. I have over 25 years of industry experience that started with Subhash Ghai at Mukta Arts Ltd as Assistant Director and with Vidhu Vinod Chopra at Vinod Chopra Films as Associate Director & Screenwriter. After making short films in New York and corporate films in Mumbai I directed & produced my first Hindi feature film 'Gafla' ('Scam') which was inspired from the Indian stock market scam of 1992. 'Gafla' premiered at the Times BFI London Film Festival (Top 10 pick at LFF by Peter Bradshaw of The Guardian) followed by its Indian theatrical release, was an 'official selection' at other prestigious international film festivals, and won awards including RACE V.Shantaram ‘Best Debut Director’ and ‘Best Script’ at Cyprus International Film Festival.I’ve represented the Indian Delegation as their Deputy Director at the Asia Pacific Film Festival 2009 in Taiwan, served the Directorate of Film Festivals (DFF, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government Of India) as a Jury member for the 'Indian Panorama' of IFFI 2009, the 'National Film Awards' 2012, and the 'Indian Panorama' of IFFI 2014. Since 2018, been a jury member for a reputed American screenwriting contest held annually.Been a guest speaker at reputed institutions including Sophia College and Jai Hind College in Mumbai, Birla Institute of Technology, Pilani, and the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore.As a participant in the inaugural Young Entrepreneurs Programme at the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad I introduced 'Film Your Business' which offers filmmaking solutions for video marketing. Subsequently, introduced 'Spread A Fire' offering strategic and creative consulting for content marketing.Recently started a Visiting Faculty position at the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore for their newly launched General Management Programme in Entertainment & Media Business.
