I bring 6 months of full-time experience at one of the world's top 5 investment banks(as the company's client), where I contributed as a key member of the middle office within a prime brokerage team. During this time, I developed specialized expertise in resolving value date and age-failed trades across diverse markets (DTC, FED, Canada, Mexico), achieving an impressive 90% and 80% resolution rate, respectively. I was responsible for amending economic details and Standard Settlement Instructions (SSIs) to settle high-value trades exceeding $5M successfully. With a deep understanding of equity, fixed income, and the entire trade life cycle, I also worked closely with external clients to investigate the root causes of trade failures and ensure their successful resolution. My proactive approach led me to propose an automation solution that was implemented across teams, significantly reducing risks and streamlining processes, ultimately saving valuable time for the entire team. Additionally, I identified recurring issues in client and counterparty behavior that caused frequent trade failures, and I implemented a permanent fix that led to smoother straight-through processing (STP). I also actively trained recruits, optimizing their trade investigation processes and improving overall team efficiency.
