Sameer is the Founder and Director of SMARTBuild Engineering P/L based in South Yarra, Melbourne which he founded in November 2017. He is a South African expat and a registered Civil/Structural Engineer in the States of Victoria, QLD & TAS. He has three qualifications from South Africa. A National Diploma, Graduate Diploma and B.Tech degree which passed Cum Laude. He also obtained a Masters degree in Civil Engineering from Swinburne Uni in 2018. He has approximately 28 years of experience in Civil Engineering of which 7.5 years was in Port Engineering 5 years was in Materials Handling, 15 years in building design including doing 3rd Party Independent Structural Certifications for Buildings, Base Retention Systems and Facades. For the past 7.5 years, he has driven SMARTBuild Engineering to specifically focus on Digital Engineering and computational design in Structural Engineering to promote an Open BIM approach in the delivery of Buildings & Infrastructure projects. For the past 3.5 years, he has focused on sustainable development using the Passivhaus approach for energy efficient buildings.
