Since 2002, Sameer has been heavily involved in advocacy work, tirelessly building bridges to create mutual understanding between minority communities and society-at-large. Professionally, Sameer has worked as a university administrator, an educator, in media relations and human rights and as a legal researcher. He also served 6 years in the Canadian Forces Reserves. Sameer has worked extensively with several civil society groups in Montreal and across Canada, and is regularly consulted about questions relating to minorities, human rights, society and media. Sameer holds degrees in law from Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM) and in mathematics from Concordia University. Sameer is the recipient of UQAM's Justice Juanita Westmoreland-Traoré scholarship, awarded for his years utilizing the law to promote social justice and equality. While in law school he also received the Canadian Bar Association for top marks in constitutional law. ---Sameer détient un diplôme en droit de l’Université du Québec à Montréal et un baccalauréat en mathématiques de l’Université Concordia. Il a travaillé dans des domaines liés aux droits de la personne, aux relations médias, à l’éducation, à la recherche juridique et il a fait partie de la réserve des Forces canadiennes. Sameer a travaillé à chercher à construire des ponts et à créer une entente mutuelle entre les citoyens de diverses origines.En 2014, l’UQAM a reconnu son engagement, en lui décernant la bourse Juanita Westmoreland-Traoré pour souligner son implication dans les activités de promotion des droits humains, de la justice sociale et du droit à l’égalité.
