My methodological and theoretical research as well as a considerable portion of my applied and collaborative work addresses targeting molecular pathways that are significantly associated with tumor development and progression. An innovative contribution of my work is the establishment of a new perspective to targeting specific proteins of interest in order to inhibit cancer progression.My research has covered many aspects of tumorigenesis ranging from proliferation, apoptosis, angiogenesis and metastasisIn addition, my research interests also include finding novel therapies in the field of gastroenterology, particularly the NLRP3 inflammasome, P2X7Rs and the role of other inflammatory pathways in the inflammatory bowel diseases such as NF-κB. Also, the implication of apoptosis, pyroptosis and autophagy in the regulation and modulation of different signals. Moreover, I focused on the protective role of renin angiotensin system inhibitors in the treatment of liver fibrosis.
