I am a dedicated, self-motivated, hardworking ophthalmologist with >15 years’ experience in Comprehensive as well as Pediatric Ophthalmology with sub-specialty in paediatric ophthalmology and ocular oncology. I am currently working in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia as a consultant of Pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus. I am affiliated with the University of Alexandria medical School since 2008 and currently on the rank of Professor. I worked in Canada in the hospital for Sick Children as a clinical fellow/Associate in the Department of pediatric ophthalmology and visual sciences (Retinoblastoma program, pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus) 2014-2021. I am an expert in pediatric ocular oncology with 35+ publications in peer reviewed international journals. With international collaboration with ophthalmologists from many countries including Canada, Switzerland, Finland, Netherlands, India, Philippines, Jordan and Denmark. Excellence in retinoblastoma management highlights my capabilities regarding setting long term plans and proper discussion with families, managing ethical dilemmas of cancer therapies and problem solving abilities. I bring to every project my sincere efforts, determination, and constructive ideas. My Egyptian experiences were augmented with my 7+ years of Clinical experience in Canada and Switzerland where I learned and interacted with the culture of diversity in Canada, and improved my knowledge of modes of interaction with different nationalities, cultures and religious beliefs. As a team player I value a multidisciplinary approach in retinoblastoma management. I initiated and participated in multiple research projects that have influences on retinoblastoma management worldwide, such as intravitreal chemotherapy, prenatal diagnosis and optical coherence tomography guided precision medicine.I am a rapid committed learner, a keen physician and thorough researcher. I like managing young children and enjoy the challenge of gaining their trust. I can communicate fluently in English and Arabic. I like teaching and feel the “students” enjoy and learn, when I teach.
