My primary duties are: •Provide the organisation with the data storage and processing systems it needs to support and develop its operations. •Keep the system up-to-date in response to changes of personnel, organisation, the law, statutory instruments.•Ensure the software used is appropriate, legal and reliable. •Install and maintain the appropriate hardware and networks. •Develop data communications with outside users (eg the internet, banks, suppliers, customers) •Train users in the use of the software and hardware. •Ensure compliance with legislation on computer design and usage, data protection. etc •Ensure that the system and data can be fully restored in the event of a system failure. (ie arrange data backup) •Carry out risk analyses and take appropriate steps to deal with any perceived risk such as fire, vandalism, hacking,•Maintains organization's effectiveness and efficiency by defining, delivering, and supporting strategic plans for implementing information technologies.•Completes projects by coordinating resources and timetables with user departments and data center.•Verifies application results by conducting system audits of technologies implemented.•Preserves assets by implementing disaster recovery and back-up procedures and information security and control structures.•Recommends information technology strategies, policies, and procedures by evaluating organization outcomes; identifying problems; evaluating trends; anticipating requirements.•Accomplishes financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective action.•Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
