My engineering responsibilities and duties included analyzing and reviewing the project design, identifying design issues by conducting engineering calculations and proposing solutions and improvements that comply with the governing codes and applicable standards.My management responsibilities and duties included procurement of project material, preparing all shop drawings in compliance with the electric code and project specifications, monitoring the quality, performance, and safety conditions on-site, contributing in construction meetings and proposing technical and cost-saving solutions, providing and updating project schedule, evaluating the cost and time impact of changes, coordinating the electrical works with the other trades on-site, as well as obtaining approvals from the authority having jurisdiction including Toronto Hydro, Electrical Safety Authority, TSSA, and Building Inspectors.

My engineering responsibilities and duties included developing the concept design documents, received from the Client, into coordinated engineering construction drawings, ready for execution on site. This included the coordination of the electrical drawings with all other disciplines as well as with the local authorities having jurisdiction, before issuing my final developed design drawings, ready for execution. I was also responsible for identifying and providing technical solutions to any conflicts or problems we faced on site by following the applicable codes and standards and acquiring the Consultant’s approval on the proposed solutions. My management responsibilities included carrying out the engineering work, procurement, installation, and commissioning of Electrical Distribution Systems, Standby Generators, HV and LV Switchgears, Building Management Systems, Fire Alarm Systems, Lighting and Lighting Control Systems, UPS Power Systems, Elevators, Access Control Systems, and CCTV systems.
