During my tenure as an Undergraduate Site Engineer for the Hobsons Bay Main Sewer project, I had the opportunity to make significant contributions and leave a lasting impact in a relatively short period of time. In my role, I diligently conducted daily inspections, meticulously capturing photographs documenting the site's evolving progress. These visual records served as valuable evidence of the project's advancement and provided stakeholders with a transparent view of the construction milestones achieved.In addition to inspections and inductions, I played a crucial role in managing the documentation and coordination of concrete pours. Collecting dockets, carefully timing the pours, and coordinating with suppliers were all essential tasks that required meticulous attention to detail and effective communication. Throughout my rotations in Power, Energy, Airports, Ports, Marine, Rail, and Transportation, I gained invaluable insights into the intricacies of each industry and developed a diverse skill set.Working closely with the Pre-Contracts Manager, I played a pivotal role in developing strategic business cases. As an engineer intern for the project delivery team at Laing O'Rourke, I completed a 12-week internship during which I was responsible for a range of tasks. My primary responsibilities included assisting the project engineers in creating work packs for the underpass, landscape, and nightshift work activities for the Merinda Park station on the Cranbourne Link. I also coordinated with subcontractors for quotes and work and undertook regular inspections with the project engineers to ensure the work was aligned with the relevant design packages.Through my work with Laing O'Rourke, I gained valuable experience in engineering and project management and was able to make a valuable contribution to the team. I am grateful for the experience and skills I developed during my time with Laing O'Rourke, which have helped me grow professionally and will be helpful in my future career.
