The sustainable utilization of the limited water resources in Jordan and the Middle East is a challenge that is facing both policy makers and the scientific community. The risk of conflict over the transboundary water resources is also increasing. The agricultural sector water use efficiency continues to be very low, while the proportion of water allocated to agriculture remains high at over 50% of the available water resources. All these factors play in the formulation of ideas, studies, projects and topics that I work on.
