My research interest is in the field of gene regulation, in the context of disease and development. I am well-versed in various molecular biology techniques, including molecular cloning, DNA/RNA Extraction, and RT-QPCR; as well as bacterial/mammalian cell culture, basic mouse handling, and basic bioinformatics. Prior lab experience during my undergraduate and masters' theses dealt with research on neurodegenerative diseases and breast cancer epigenetics, respectively. I'm a quick learner and I'm always willing to learn new things; most of all, I value the importance of creativity in science. I believe science doesn't have to be boring, nor complicated--that the questions we ask can be solved in simple, yet elegant ways.
