From a young age, I was constantly told that studying hard and securing a good job was the key to success. Following this advice, I pursued a degree in Electronics Engineering at NUS and eventually found employment as an equipment engineer in a manufacturing setting after completing my national service.As an equipment engineer, my primary responsibility was to ensure the smooth operation of all plant equipment, 24 hours a day. I oversaw a maintenance team and would personally be called in whenever they were unable to handle a particular machine. This meant being on 24-hour standby, even on Sundays and public holidays.Each morning, I would attend meetings with my boss and report to multiple superiors. Unfortunately, the manufacturing environment was rife with office politics, making the situation even more challenging.The most significant drawback of my job was being completely at the mercy of my boss. They determined when I could take leave, the amount of my salary, and any pay increments. Furthermore, there was a salary cap in place, which meant that no matter how hard I worked or how many hours I dedicated to my job, my income would never surpass this limit.Attempting to find a solution, I changed companies every 2-3 years. However, I soon discovered that regardless of the organization I joined, the same problems persisted. This cycle continued for approximately 15 years, leading me to make a difficult decision in 2003—to dismiss my boss and embark on an entrepreneurial journey.I opened my first conventional retail business focused on computer parts and accessories. Unfortunately, within three years, I had to shut it down due to the high overhead costs and poor revenue.In early 2007, I began exploring online business opportunities. Attending seminars and events on making money online, I came across various models such as stocks, shares, options, and eCommerce. However, the affiliate marketing model piqued my interest the most. I conducted extensive research on this approach and took action by enrolling in a training program. This marked the beginning of my learning journey.Through my dedication and the income generated from online ventures, I achieved the secure and freedom-filled life I had always dreamed of. Today, I share my knowledge and teach others who, like me, are eager to take charge and establish a successful online income.
