Primary School Teacher, Culmstock Primary School (January 2016 – July 2019)As a teacher I loved the teaching and creative side of the role, the opportunity to inspire learning and influence pupils positively was great. I was required to be organised and plan in line with the curriculum to challenging and engage pupils to help them deepen their knowledge and understanding. Another responsibility in this role I embraced was being the P.E Co-ordinator, where I was able to influence how the P.E curriculum was taught throughout the school and manage sporting events and fixtures.

I worked across the East Devon and Exeter area as a supply teacher in a variety of primary schools. This required me to be well organised and flexible when teaching across the primary curriculum. In this post I was always willing to travel to gain further experience as a teacher and would always aim to leave a positive impression. This did result in being offered full-time teaching jobs at some of the schools.

I enjoyed the fun element of this role, where the aim was to entertain and inspire children on camp to enjoy the benefits of games and sport. In collaboration with the camp director and other coaches we planned and delivered a range of activities to achieve this. Throughout the weeks of camps I received great feedback from children and parents, who really appreciated my efforts.

Whilst working at Mount Washington I honed further my customer service skills, organisational skills and logistical awareness. Other than golf course maintenance, I assisted in the organisation of golf tournaments and the logistics of transferring people to and from the resort. I was also the first point of call in the clubhouse for any customer queries, making sure I was on hand to help with any issues however big or small.

This role helped improve my teaching and public speaking skills, as I was responsible for planning and delivering Soccer camps to large groups of children. I embraced the energetic and fun style delivery to engage the children in being actively involved all we offered providing them with great experiences and memories. The position also developed my planning and organisation skills further, to ensure the smooth running of camps.
