My primary responsibility is working as part of our development team to keep CoolCare 4 the UK's most efficient care home management tool. Our company business model is software as a service which means we're able to develop and regularly deliver sought after features.Our development process follows the Scrum framework with a sprint lasting two weeks which allows us to keep focused on delivering the best value for our customers with each increment. During that time I will either be taking the lead or collaborating on tickets brought into the sprint.As a developer I will organise a time to discuss and negotiate with our product owner and our QA specialist. From the meeting I will write the criteria for accuracy of work that will be visible to the team. Being full stack I am able to work independently or with colleagues to then begin development work on this ticket. I will work with Java Spring web MVC for the server side and Javascript Vue for the client side with MSSQL for the databse. I am a strong advocate of TDD and the SOLID principles which I will follow during this time of development.All code is reviewed by a peer before proceeding to any stage of manual testing or QA. I will discuss and show my code to a colleague while explaining my processes and methodologies that got the code to its current state. If they are happy with all of it I will then be able to move my piece of work forward on our scrum board.Our scrum process also has story time meetings where future work is discussed with my responsibility to raise considerations and help shape a need from a customer into a feature to make. We estimate using story points.During development work we will also take responsibility for any critical issues affecting production servers. We will need to diagnose and resolve the problem. Other responsibilities include technical writing, delivering releases, and improving the team processes. Our team is quite small so a range of responsibilities appear.
