Since starting work in the insolvency sector in 2011 I have gained plenty of experience advising business owners and other stakeholders in restructuring their business to turn around the fortunes of their business. I am also a Chartered Accountant.I assist with turning around businesses before they failed to enable the company to refocus and return to profit. This is sometimes through a formal insolvency process, and when this happens, I provide guidance and support to directors, shareholders, creditors, employees and other stakeholders affected by the process. Insolvency law is a technical minefield that, for many affected business owners, is not clear. Where clients have been affected by one of their customers/suppliers entering insolvency, I have provided advice and explained the process in simple and easy-to-understand terms allowing them not to waste time unnecessarily.Outside work, I actively participate in my community as a Councillor for my Town and District Councils. I chair a forum tasked to review the sport and leisure strategy for East Devon. In this role, I work with local providers to understand the market's challenges, develop strategies to overcome these, and ensure a viable, sustainable and effective sport and leisure strategy is designed for the benefit of the district. Furthermore, I am the Cabinet member for finance. I also Chair the Town Council's Finance & Personnel committee responsible for budget setting.
