I am a Master of Science candidate in Security Informatics at Johns Hopkins University Information Security Institute. I have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science with First Class Honours and minor in Statistics. I gained my Bachelor degree at Hong Kong Baptist University, and I have been to McGill University in Canada as Visiting Student for one semester and Technische Universität München in Germany as Exchange Student for another semester during my undergraduate study. I have also wroked in The University of New South Wales in Australia as a Visiting Research Associate, and my past research experiences include Natural Language Processing and Machine Learning on Health Image Data. I am currently most interested in Data Analytics in Cyber Security field, as well as Cryptology, Blockchain, and Digital Forensics.

    From June to July 2016, I worked as visiting research associate in the Knowledge Graph research group, School of Computer Science and Engineering, University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia. There I joined in the research project to optimize the Named Entity Recognition model for Nature Language Processing in Social Media Content.- Contributed in building up the corpuses for model training and testing.- Generated NER models using Python NLP toolboxes including NLTK, MITIE, Spacy, StanfordNERTagger, etc.- Developed an assessment tool for automatically evaluating NER models using Python. Compared the above generated NER models with the UNSWKG model and analyzed the performance of each model on corpuses in different domain.

    In summer 2015, I worked as a Research Assistant in the Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI) Data Analysis for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) Detection research project in Computer Science Department, Hong Kong Baptist University for two months.- Collected and cleaned the fMRI databases for ADHD detection.- Preprocessed the fMRI databases with Statistical Parametric Mapping (SPM) toolbox in MATLAB.- Implemented the machine learning experiment with Multilinear Principal Component Analysis (MPCA) and SVM classifier using MATLAB and evaluated the performance.
