As Technology Lead, I play a vital role in all areas of the product and development for different clients. I'm involved with all stages of the process from leading on the new business opportunities to writing technical bids and proposals. Then through the team planning and project write-up outlining key product features and what scope is possible within the deadlines. Finally, to being part of the development team, here I've worked on all levels of the tech stack from interfaces with websites (Vue, HTML, Javascript/Typescript) and mobile applications (Flutter / dart) to Backend systems (Python in Serverless and Django) and finally infrastructure using Pulumi on AWS.One of the projects I ran from start to finish was to develop a website for a business development company. It was a very tight deadline for proposals and then a tight deadline for delivering the final website. Through each stage, I coordinated and worked with the team to get it completed, going through an expedited lean development process. Making sure we delivered the needed features on time.

I'm the Senior Backend Developer for the Factory and Supply Chain team. In this role, I'm responsible for all aspects of the system which factories interact with to manage and process their Orders. Some of the duties include the development of internal and external API, order processing workflows and integration with shipping providers, along with the majority of infrastructure maintenance for the respective services.One of the projects I led was the migration from a Django Rest-based approach which powered the main User Interface and async workflow. This meant that when traffic to the site increased or order volume increased it had a detrimental impact on the other. Instead, we moved to a separate read-optimised NoSQL database to power the user interface using GraphQL as the communication technology, using the Command-Query Segregation Principle as the underline guide.Another long-running project I've played a leading role in is the re-architecting of the service from a sequential base microservice to an async event-driven process with the breaking part of large microservices along domain lines. This project has required a large amount of discussion and generation of documentation to get everyone to the same level of understanding making sure everyone is confident with the new approach.All the services are hosted on AWS and I have been involved in the migrating of manual configurations to IaC using Terraform or the Serverless Frameworks. I work closely with the Platform team in securing the platform and reducing costs where I can.

As engineering lead, I've played a vital role in all areas of software development and IT at Patch. I've managed the engineering department and grown the single team into multiple product lead teams. I've negotiated with SAS system and led the implementation of a warehouse management system and stock management system. Lead the engineering aspect of the United Kingdom nationwide rollout of Patch and implementation of fulfilment centres through multiple phases and different integrations. Part of this was supporting the developers to implement new technologies to meet our objectives.I've carried out hiring and working practices changes to enable the growth of the team while maintaining a psychologically safe environment.Maintained the AWS infrastructure and set out processes that enables the developers more control over the infrastructure while keeping it secure.Rolling out improved observation and better developers environment.On the IT side, I've managed devices, been system admin for business-critical systems such as AWS, Google and Microsoft.I've also been involved in writing up the company's research and development claim to HMRC.
