For over 20 years, Dr. Sam Holmes has helped attorneys across the country develop persuasive strategies for trial, arbitration and mediation. She is expert at conducting mock trial research (both live and online), focus groups, jury profiling analysis and witness preparation. She also frequently helps clients in the courtroom with jury selection, shadow jury facilitation and trial monitoring, and she helps them understand how actual jurors decide cases in post trial juror interviews. Sam’s philosophy is that empirical research is an important tool for developing sound, creative, and practical solutions to the problems her clients face. Sam’s training and experience have made her highly skilled at data collection and analysis and have given her impeccable interpersonal skills. Sam earned her doctorate in Social Psychology at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. She specializes in the field of jury psychology and has consulted on hundreds of cases—including those involving product liability/personal injury, corporate negligence, toxic tort, insurance/bad faith, employment disputes, intellectual property, amusement industry litigation, contracts, and professional malpractice—in various venues nationwide. Sam has written numerous published articles and been an invited speaker at many law firms across the country. She has also served on the faculty of numerous regional and national conferences, including the American Bar Association and the Defense Research Institute. When she is not helping attorneys tackle high-profile cases, Sam enjoys globetrotting, riding the world’s most amazing roller coasters, and supporting the impactful mission of her beloved Sorority, Zeta Phi Beta.
