I worked on a Caltrans-sponsored research project under Dr. José Restrepo and Dr. P. Benson Shing. The focus of the project was to study the seismic demand on sacrificial bridge abutment shear keys during moderate to extreme earthquakes, and how these components can be better designed to act as structural fuses during such events.

I served as the Senior Teaching Assistant for the Department of Structural Engineering.
