Assisted the preparatory mission coordinated by the World Bank and led by Dr. Philip Schwoler to identify areas for the DTIS including livestock. The programme was funded by IMF, WTO, UNDP, WB, ITC and UNCTAD to establish numbers of modalities for Sudanese Diagnostic Trade Integration Study (DTIS)

Taskforce to identify bottlenecks and relevant policies in the trade and related economic sectors that may assist Sudan in its economic development.Taskforce to identify the main trade policy objectives and/or targets in current national development or poverty reduction strategy documents with a view to identifying possible gaps and recommend issues to be addressed by the DTIS in order to translate these objectives and/or targets into concrete outcomes. Working group to describe the trade policy making of Sudan, the different Ministries and institutions involved, identify and suggest possible modalities to improve trade policy making in Sudan with a view to enhance trade mainstreaming taking into account the on-going Sudan accession process to the WTO. Taskforce to formulate policies and legislations to promote agricultural development in the Sudan, particularly in the field of rural development, food security and poverty elevation. Participating in the bilateral negotiations and preparation of the Initial Offers in Goods and Services for the Sudan Accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO). Responsible for SPS and TBT Agreements and issues.

Taskforce to identify the main Food Safety Policy objectives and/or targets with a view to:1- Establish Government Regulations based on: Consumer protection;2- Disease Control Quarantines; and Food Hygiene Control3- Encouragement of establishment of civil society organizations4- Public awareness programs through different media sets. Assess policies and institutional arrangements and cooperation with the private sector regarding SPS and TBT; Identify products where SPS and TBT issues have been raised; Discuss SPS and TBT issues that limit exportsEstablish Sudan SPS and TBT Enquiry and Focal Point
