Responsible for processing mis-sold insurance cases. Investigated whether or not Payment Protection Insurance was mis-sold to the customer. If it was mis-sold I calculated how much redress they were due and produced detailed offer letters and decision reports. Was authorised to make redress payments of up to £10,000.Work was target based; I exceeded the targets set on a regular basis whilst maintaining a quality score of over 95%. Quality was extremely important thus I had to ensure that my attention to detail was excellent. Was selected to undertake a detailed analysis of all the cases where the original decision was changed following customers coming back to us disputing the outcome of their initial complaint. This involved auditing the entire complaint handling process from the administrative stage, how it was dealt with by a case handler initially and then why the decision was changed when the customer disputed the initial outcome. I noticed that case handlers were dealing with disputed outcomes that the administrative team could easily address. I suggested that the disputed cases be divided into complex and non-complex cases. Senior management accepted my suggestion and this resulted in a more streamlined and efficient complaint handling process.
