In the capacity of Assistant Regional Director – Program Management I have been recently leading the Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) program at the International Planned Parenthood Federation across the Arab World and Pakistan. In this role, I led the SRH program on a regional scale for fifteen countries, effectively collaborated with other program directors from IPPF’s London headquarters and the five other IPPF offices and managed four regional advisers working in the humanitarian, SRH, Systems and Innovation, and Youth programs. I have devised and led numerous successful broad, in-depth international efforts on a programmatic basis, including IPPF’s past and forward-looking strategic plans in the Arab World for the past 20+ years, as well as the detailed implementation of these plans on the ground. I also chaired the IPPF COVID task force during the year 2021 to develop, coordinate and drive the implementation of a plan for IPPF’s response to the challenges posed by COVID, which succeeded in implementing critical sexual health programs across the globe amidst the pandemic. I am also a writer for several studies aimed at assisting the vulnerable in the modern world, including “An intervention delivered by text message to increase the acceptability of effective contraception among young women in Palestine: study protocol for a randomized controlled trial”.
