I live and work near Boston, USA practicing as an immigration lawyer with a background in civil liberties. I am second generation Pakistani, raised in Britain, and have lived the last two decades in Massachusetts, serving the state’s immigrant communities. I am currently working on a novel combining magic realism with contemporary events, inspired by my experiences growing up in an immigrant Pakistani family in Scotland. I draw on my training in legal writing and research to convey novel concepts and possibilities in fiction and nonfiction.
