CurrentI lead AIR's Workforce Innovation and Learning portfolio, which uses research and technical assistance to improve programs helping people prepare for, find, and thrive in good jobs. Across our portfolio of projects, I draw on my expertise in innovative and time-tested research, evaluation, and TA methods and nuanced knowledge of workforce systems, to help public agencies and employers adapt effectively to the Future of Work and deepen impact. I lead a great team testing new ways of improving workforce programs. I help forge our strategic vision, cultivate partnerships, and mentor a growing team of emerging leaders. I really enjoy public speaking and building system capacity. My current passion projects include helping the Department of Labor pilot strategies for moving Evidence to Action; helping states apply behavioral insights, human-centered design and data analytics to revamp Unemployment Insurance communications to advance equity; and using intelligent tutoring systems to deepen learning in partnership with Per Scholas Recent projects include using behavioral insights to improve remote service delivery for youth in Ohio, the Trade Adjustment Assistance program nationwide, the unemployment insurance program in North Carolina, and American Job Center intake processes in Detroit. I also led the design and implementation of an evidence capacity assessment for the Department of Labor.
