For the NIH funded ECHO project, I have helped in the soliciting and review of project applications from junior investigators interested in research, and now have transitioned to managing some of those awarded projects from study kick-off to study outcomes publication. Also, as a project lead, I also work in cardiovascular, in organizing Think Tanks that bring experts in government, academic and industry prospective for current cardiac safety issues. I also help manage the programs that arise as solutions to problems described in the think tanks. The cardiovascular therapeutic area work was initially funded by FDA, and continues to generate their support.Throughout my experience at Duke University, Duke Medicine and now Duke Clinical Research Institute I have learned clinical trials from the inside out, with experiencing spanning from grant application, funding, regulatory, developing case report forms, data logistics, clinical trial coordination, recruiting study participants, data collection and analysis.
