Sami Farooqui is the Lead Research Coordinator at Cena Research Institute, where he collaborates with major players in the medical and technology fields, including big pharma, med tech companies, educational institutions, and AI software companies. Sami is completing his Bachelor of Science in Public Health and Pre-Health Professions Certificate at the University of Texas at Austin while actively interviewing at medical schools to achieve his dream of becoming a physician.A native of Houston, Sami has developed expertise in medical research, clinical trial recruitment, scientific writing, and IRB correspondence. His leadership skills and dedication to driving innovation have been honed through his role at Cena Research Institute, where he leads research projects in collaboration with industry experts. His work has led to co-authoring two publications and presenting some of his research at the 100th Anniversary of the American Heart Association.Sami’s passion for healthcare is rooted in his commitment to addressing health inequities. His ultimate goal is to contribute to developing new evidence-based medical practices that account for the social determinants and intersectionality of diverse populations. His volunteer work for marginalized groups in Austin reflects his desire to hear individuals' unique perspectives and the lessons they have to share.In addition to his academic and professional accomplishments, Sami remains active in his personal life through sports like boxing, basketball, and weight training. He also enjoys studying philosophy and practicing photography, seeking a well-rounded approach to personal growth.Outside of work, Sami is driven by a desire to hear and learn from the stories of those around him and be part of a future where healthcare is inclusive and accessible to all.
