As a catering supervisor I was liable for the overall operation of a catering facility. This involves not only running the catering facility during an event, but also handling all the preparation before & after the event ; worked closely with clients to ensure their event is a success, & follow up with the client to get feedback after the event itself as well. I have aided in the planning of events for clients. Some aspects of planning can include helping the client find other service providers such as disc jockeys, photographers, videographers & wedding planners.I was liable for the appearance of the catering hall before & during the event. One example is that if the client is hosting a casino night & needs to have casino table games set up at the catering facility. I was in charge for the daily operations of catering facility. This means that the position must train & schedule staff to work events; ordering the food for the catering operations. I am answerable for comparing the prices of different suppliers & making sure getting the best service for the money. I used to help general managers & executive chefs in supervising the daily operations of a catering business. Managed staff of food prepares, cooks, servers & other banquet employees is often the task. The main focus of catering management is to ensure customer satisfaction, which often involves responding to customer complaints & resolving operational issues quickly & quietly with minimal disturbance to the catered event; handled variety of administrative tasks that are often delegated by the general manager. Along with scheduling shifts, may maintain employee records, prepare payroll & manage inventory. I used to hire staff members & train them in food hygiene, safety procedures & customer service. I handled operations, administration areas, & customer care areas & at the end of the shift submitted the detailed reports of the daily revenue & operational details to the Director of the property.
