At my current workplace, I manage the mid- and short-term physical and financial hedging book, trading in OTC and spot, including non-standard products like solar swaps. I contribute to the development and implementation of hedging strategies that mitigate market risks and optimize profitability. My role involves conducting valuations of both standard and non-standard physical and financial products to support our solar portfolio. Additionally, I build and maintain analytical tools using Excel, Python, SQL, and Tableau for valuation, portfolio analysis,market analysis, and risk management.

My area of interest is the financial instruments designed to complement deregulated electricity market structures. Since deregulation of any market leads to higher volatility and lower prices, risk allocation becomes vital to the market and it is important to provide market players with risk management tools. Derivatives such as futures are traditionally employed in all markets to manage risks linked to spot price volatility; but, let's agree that electricity is not like any other commodity. In that case, how can we price such derivatives? And, how will they affect risk exposure and cash flow of electricity market participants?
