At 60 years of age, I am an entrepreneur. #CalmKaaj, our first project, is live and, alhamdullilah, progressing well. A bucket list desire for decades, never before could I muster the courage to invest, manage, and sustain, not to mention scale while absorbing risk by investing personally. As a founding partner, I do that and more. Money is tight but the desire to succeed is laser focused and top of mind at all times. I returned to Pakistan after 15 years abroad to head @CodeforPakistan, a not-for-profit, civic tech organization facilitating government digital transformation, promoting open data and open-source, building capacity for government innovation, and creating solutions that meet citizens’ needs. After 2 yrs of enjoyable, useful work with a way forward strategy, I bid goodbye and good luck to CfP and have moved on to the most exciting bucket list item; building a startup. I was with Oracle for 20 years and led a highly skilled and dynamic team of Key Account Directors who served Oracle’s most influential and strategic customers, innovators and leaders in their respective geographies and industries across ASEAN. Our Key Account Program was an exclusive offering to our most valued customers. Our customers made significant investment in Oracle offerings based upon a strong IT strategy and a desire to increase the business value of IT through a collaborative approach with Oracle. My prior assignment was to lead the Business Development team for Analytics and Big Data across Middle East and Africa. We evangelized Oracle’s innovative Analytics Solutions and were responsible to deliver the Data Management value chain. We advised customers on their Journey to Cloud from the Platform as a Service perspective. Earlier, I was leading the prestigious Oracle Insight team for the Middle East Africa region. My experience as a management consultant combined with my knowledge of the IT landscape positioned Insight as a high-impact, value selling resource in the region. I have had the privilege of working with customers across industries and geographies. Currently, I serve on the Advisory Boards of NIC Peshawar and USAID/IPA. I am an alumnus of The American University in Washington DC (CompSci), The George Washington University in Washington DC (ISM), and the Lahore University of Management Sciences in Pakistan (Business Administration). I am a Certified Project Management Professional with Project Management Institute PMI, and a Certified Director with Pakistan Institute of Corporate Governance PICG.But most of all, at 60....I'm #ENTREPRENEUR !
