As a volunteer ambassador my roles include but are not limited to helping to raise awareness of our work by attending events to talk about our work and encourage others to get involved in fundraising activity. This is a really important role as it helps us to reach new people, inspire new fundraising activity, and thank our supporters for the work they are doing.As well as working closely with the fundraising nature of the role, it also includes support and engagement of teams to reach new networks in a co-ordinated way and willing to research local area and network with the connections that we make. This could include engagement with local parishes, groups, associations, companies and individuals in order to thank existing supporters and inspire new fundraisers and volunteers. As a whole the main duties of being an ambassador for Football without Borders Kenya are - * To engage with the local community and raise awareness of the work of the organisation* To represent the charity in a professional manner * To promote fundraising initiatives and activity on behalf of Across * To liaise with Across staff on a regular basis and ensure all expressions of interest in travel, fundraising and volunteering are communicated promptly for follow up. As the UK coordinator my roles include but are not limited to managing all elements of volunteering either within the organisation or on behalf of the organisation. The role involves assessing and meeting an organisation's needs through the recruitment, placement and retention of volunteers.As well as, managing volunteers and the relationships with those they come into contact with, including employees and service users of an organisation. My coordinator duties with Football without Borders also include directing, managing and creating the football coaching curriculum used within the organisation to develop teams and players from youth to senior teams.

As a Physical Education Teacher, my roles include but are not limited to building positive relationships with the learners, act as a positive role model to them and support teachers by taking responsibility for learning interventions (such as Lego Therapy and Phonics) to address barriers to learning and ensure learners engage and access the curriculum. This may involve planning, preparing and delivering learning interventions for individuals/ groups as well as recording and reporting on achievement, behaviour for learning and progress.To supervise students at break & lunch times maintaining high expectations and following the Behaviour for Learning framework. Establish individual plans focusing on Literacy, Reading, Social and Emotional Development and Numeracy Skills. A big focus of our work is the development of these skills, which will enable the learners to leave with the necessary attributes for a successful adult life within society.

As a head coach for Priory Park FC, I currently manage an U12’s boys youth team. My duties include everything expected of a head coach in modern day football. Which include but are not limited to, being responsible for implementing the coaching programme and developing players technically, tactically, physically and psycho-socially in the youth development phase. Plan, prepare and deliver coaching sessions in the youth development phase in tandem with the Club philosophy and coaching syllabus. Organise players’ logistics for all training sessions, fixtures, tournaments and match days. Complete all relevant information including training sessions, fixtures and player reviews. Be responsible for maintenance of training / match balls, bibs, cones and all other relevant equipment as required by the Club. Recommend and recruit players for the team. Assist in the decision-making process regarding the permanent registration of team triallists and the retention of players currently in the team. Multi-disciplinary communication between staff, players and parents to ensure optimal well-being and development of all youth development phase players. Maintain honesty and integrity at all times when working with young players at the Club. Be presentable, smart and personable at all times when representing the Club.

As an academy soccer trainer for Burlington Youth Soccer one of my mains roles was to coach and teach different teams within the club aged between 6-16 years old. I would attend all match days, assess the teams and look for areas of improvement that each individual team could work on and then create session plans around those areas and put it into practice in training sessions. As well as this I would teach them a better understanding of the game and new skills and techniques they may not have seen before. Another main role of mine was to assist, coach and help volunteer coaches become better coaches by having them understand the game more by holding coaching clinics and session plan workshops for all level coaches within the club. Also to help the board come up with and make soccer curriculums for each specific age group to help aid the coaches and the club, as well as any new ideas and areas I thought we could improve on to move the club forward.

As a soccer coach for challenger sports my role was to coach and teach children from the age of 3 – 16 years old at all different abilities. I had to plan and organise each session every dayfor week long camps keeping them fun and educational, working on all aspects of their gameincluding passing, dribbling, shooting and their ball skills. As well as this I also directed week long soccer camps, anywhere from 20-150 players. I would have to liaison with the camp coordinator, regional director and parents to make sure the camp ran smoothlyfor the week. I was also accountable for all admin work including camp registers, camp summary’sand director’s packs. I was in charge of every child on camp making sure they were safe and having fun, as well as learning new skills and keeping them looking forward to coming back each day. Another big part of my job was to promote and sell soccer camps, programmes and trainers. A big part of that would mean I would hold coaching clinics and promotional events for different clubs in differentstates, which would involve me taking a coaching session to the club coaches, staff and directors and show and explain to them what we as a company could offer their club to improve it. This part of the jobwas commission based, aimed at trying to get the club to sign a contract on the spot with the companyfor a new soccer camp, programme or trainer.

United States

As a Programme Director and Academy Coach for Southampton FC I was one of 2 coaches representing Southampton Football Club in the States. I would direct and run weeklong football programmes and camps teaching football players from 10-18 years old “The Southampton Way”. The week long development camp would mimic what it would be like to play at Southampton, a professional Premier League academy. They would learn various technical and tactical aspects of the game each day, boosting their skills, understanding and knowledge of the game.As well as this I was in charge of running the programme, which included making sure everything was set up and the local club had the correct facilities. As well as having to liaison and communicate with various different people such as the club president, director of coaching, regional director and all parents, to make sure everything ran smooth each week. I was also accountable all for all paperwork and admin that went along with holding and running the development camps and programmes.
