Where feelings meet practicality: I help couples design a relationship that works for them through coaching, offsites, and workshops.

As a client-facing consultant I lead teams to oversee critical changes within fortune 500 companies and public sector clients. Key Outcomes: -Improved student application system for California Community Colleges through statewide co-creation sessions. Engaged over 200 employees in surveys, interviews, working sessions and task force meetings to inform new application solution. -Built change management capability across 1,300 employees for tech company’s real estate group through a new operating model and training curriculum. -Established Future of Work strategy for a medical robotics company through 4,500 employee surveys and 20 leadership interviews.

The Alliance for Community Development is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to increasing access to capital for underrepresented entrepreneurs including but not limited to women, people of color, and veterans. Within my time at the Alliance, I organized the 8th annual Capital Connections Conference. Here, I tripled attendance and through our partnership with the Rainbow Push Coalition helped secure over $15k in pitch prize money and Rev. Jesse Jackson as a keynote speaker. www.alliancecd.org

ABOUT: Design for America (DFA) is an award-winning national network of students using design to create local and social impact. Design for America’s mission is to create impact through our projects and leaders of innovation. Our national office is based out of Northwestern University in the Segal Design Institute. MY ROLE: I lead DFA's strategic direction, financial growth, staff development and operations. Externally, I represented DFA at national and international speaking events, and worked to secure and maintain relationships with corporate sponsors and donors. Internally, I built and fostered a collaborative team, reported to DFA advisors, and oversaw our programs to ensure our growth and increase our impact through our projects and leaders. ABOUT: The Segal Design Institute at NU uses design to provide critical insights for all forms of human endeavor: the development of products and services, the structure of organizations or society, transportation systems or public policy. We strive to use design to integrate technology, people and societal needs in meaningful ways. While the Design Institute’s roots are in engineering design, we seek and engage experts in business, art, psychology and communication in the design process.MY ROLE: I taught the course, "Introduction to Industrial Design." My goal was to help students in engineering and other majors to perceive the impact of our visual world and how design impacts our interaction with each other and perception of self. http://www.segal.northwestern.edu

ABOUT: Wild Earth is a small producer of fine handcrafted Himalayan herbal products. Located in Kathmandu, Nepal, we contribute to women's and rural economic development in Nepal through the wholesale export of herbal products locally produced by Nepali women.MY ROLE: As a three month consultant, proposed a package design to decrease amount of plastic used by five times, introduced re-branding strategies, and co-managed the opening of a new spa treatment center. ABOUT: Pratt's Design Management is a two-year program created to bridge the disciplines of design and business management. It is tailored to provide an executive education more focused than an M.B.A. on the special needs of design leaders managing design firms or managing design teams in creative industries.MY ROLE: Co-developed and taught "Design Futures" with Jaime Stein from Sustainable South Bronx to second year grad students. ABOUT: Room by Room is a healthy home makeover program where inner city high school students learned about environmental threats within the home such as lead, mold, pest, and toxic cleaning products while also learning interior design and making skills to make over a room in their own homes.MY ROLE: In partnership with Brown University’s Community Environmental College and the Environmental Justice League of RI, designed, developed and managed pilot healthy home makeover program for inner-city teens. Created curriculum, cultivated community partnerships with schools and local NGOs, raised $13,000 in grants and $15,000 of in-kind services, came within $2 of budget, and managed 5 employees. Concept was a finalist in Ideablob’s 10k competition.

ABOUT: The "Design for Social Entrepreneurship" (DeSE) advanced studio cultivates social entrepreneurial designers by investigating the power of products, systems and services to create positive social and environmental change both internationally and domestically.MY ROLE: Founded and taught this advanced studio as the youngest adjunct faculty at RISD. After understanding the global context through the framework of the UN Millennium Development Goals, students developed design concepts to increase the social impact of local organizations. ABOUT: Design that Matters is a nonprofit design company that develops products addressing basic needs in developing countries. MY ROLE: Developed brand strategy to convey organization’s mission and process through a series of printed collateral for press & potential funders and an online social media strategy to increase volunteer and donor base.
