Samir Akhavan started his automotive career buying and selling cars on campus while attending Toronto's York University, and began wholesaling cars on a full-time basis upon leaving university in spring of 1977.By May 1978, Samir had bought his first dealership - Town and Country BMW/Mazda. When in 1994 Samir sold his entire automotive holdings, Town and Country had become one of the largest dealership groups in Canada. The group included Honda, Subaru, Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, as well as the BMW and Mazda franchises.Over the ensuing years he developed into an habitual entrepreneur - in other words, he was able to identify, evaluate and exploit a number of different business opportunities in hospitality, health care and automotive industries.This resulted in Samir being able to generate business wherever and whenever the opportunity presented itself.By engaging in repeated entrepreneurial undertakings, Samir gained significant experience in becoming an all around businessman. This allowed him the chance to not only start several businesses and enjoy the excitement of start ups, but also to develop the expertise and skill sets required to run multidisciplinary enterprises.Samir brings extensive industry specific and general business experience to Templeton Marsh, having spent over 16 years as a successful franchisee for some of the world's top automotive manufacturers. His experience extends to having operated a large, profitable independent dealership, as well as founding and acting as senior executive for an automotive consulting company.This experience uniquely qualifies Samir to assist Templeton Marsh's' clients in acquiring or divesting of automobile dealerships.
