Taught English as a foreign language in the Republic of Korea. Learned to adapt to new and unique environments, working in a fast-paced and demanding work environment. Created lesson plans and aptitude tests, edited and proofread papers, and provided guidance and support to children from the ages of 5 to 15.

Worked for the City of Oakland as a recreation leader in an after-school program, engaging with the community to provide assistance and resolve conflicts at a local community center.

Assisted this small non-profit with the further development of fund-raising capabilities by identifying and reaching out to donors, alumni, and funding organizations and preparing grant applications. Compiled a list of over one hundred foundations and grant-making organizations to streamline and increase efficiency of the grant application process. Helped organize and publicize information on alumni events. Worked with customer relationship managers (CRMs), including Salesforce and eTapestry; also worked extensively in Google drive, including Google docs and Google sheets.

History Major & English Minor with a focus in Post-Cold War European history and international affairs.

Worked for this non-governmental organization (NGO) with the mission of educating the public on various issues in current affairs throughout the world. Personally responsible for researching subjects in international affairs, including comparisons of international education systems throughout the world, the Israel-Palestine conflict, immigration reform, and sustainable development in India. The aim was to create comprehensive, neutral reading packets presenting the historic context of each subject and the various interests of involved parties. Assisted with teaching and led discussion groups with high achieving high school students. Wrote blog posts for the education program. Worked with Microsoft Office and Salesforce, and gained professional experience in administrative work and outreach.

Positions included counselor-in-training, counselor, group leader, team leader, and leadership coordinator. Associated responsibilities included preparing lesson plans, instructing and supervising groups of children, and supporting and advising staff under my direct supervision. I received training to work with children with disabilities and helped supervise and integrate these children into larger groups. During my last two years, I developed and executed a Leadership Training Program for high school students.
