Since qualifying as a primary school teacher (with a Bachelor of Education), I have been specialising in providing private tuition/governess support for children from professional backgrounds, to achieve their full academic potential. My work includes understanding the importance of engaging and stimulating more able/gifted children, by ensuring they are challenged during tasks. Often encouraging them to think outside the box. On occasions, the tuition has been in preparation for entry exams, however I have also been requested to deliver general intervention sessions to help close the gap in children’s learning. Many of my students have attended private and international schools, these including Pembridge Hall (Notting Hill), Wetherby School (Notting Hill), St Nicholas Preparatory School (Knightsbridge) and Lycée Français Charles de Gaulle de Londres (Cromwell Road, Kensington). My clients expect the best education and care for their children, which I always endeavour to provide. I acknowledge my clients requests for professionalism at all times, and therefore I am proactive, discrete and respectful of confidential matters. My extensive experience with children who have learning difficulties including autism, global delay and dyslexia; has taught me to use a holistic approach, providing individualised care to cater for children’s needs. I believe it is important to promote confidence within the child to encourage independence and allow them to take control of their own learning.Furthermore, I have taught Year 2 for a number of years, with SATs results averaging over 90% in Reading, Writing and Maths. I have also achieved the same positive results when teaching the Phonics Screening test. As a passionate teacher, my aim for success is embedding a curiosity and love for learning that I hope children will continue to enjoy throughout their lives.
