As Division Manager of BC Hydro’s Distribution Engineering (DE) Division, I oversee a staff complement of over 70 people including Regional Distribution Engineers, Civil Engineers, Drafters and Administrative Support. DE provides expertise in the engineering design, procurement, construction, maintenance, and operational support of BC Hydro’s distribution electrical infrastructure throughout the province; supports asset management planning and decision making, as well as project management including services such as conceptual through to final engineering design, estimating, scheduling, procurement strategies, investigations, and regulatory support; provides technical oversight of work that is outsourced to consultants in the engineering community by BC Hydro; acts as the “owner’s engineer”; is a service partner with Asset & Infrastructure Management, Major Projects, Projects and Program Management, Field Operations & Safety.
