E&I HOD operating plant (post augmentation) (1998 to 2000) 2 years• Revamping of 33 kV receiving yard by installing VCB, CT, PT• Installing maximum demand controller and power factor controller leading to huge saving in power bill• Installation and commissioning of 3.3 MW down rated to 2.5 MW DG set• Revamping of transformers by increasing capacity from 6 MVA to 7.5 MVA by installation of cooling fans. This made one transformer as spare out of two.• Installation of OLTC in the receiving transformers and stabilized voltage of the plant leading to reduction in electrical motor failure.• Replacing old design synchronous motors with white metal friction bearings with new generation induction slip ring motors with anti friction bearings and VPI winding and fitting the same on the same bed plates.
