In my role as Partner Manager at SCC I managed relationships with several key Datacentre Modernisation, hybrid cloud, security architecture and workplace productivity vendors including Dell Technologies, Nutanix, Fortinet, Palo Alto Networks and Oracle to name a few. Previous to this I covered our Workspace alliances with Citrix, Ivanti, RSA Security, VMware and Mimecast. My duties included:Working with Partners• Management and operational responsibility for key vendor partners. Growing the relationship from C-Suite right the way through to account director level• Understand partner strategies, programs and deliver future partner planning and profitability• Own the financial health of the partner relationship• Have responsibility for targets to achieve revenue, margin and soft dollarWorking with sales and technical teams• Provide executive summaries and briefing notes on partner and market strategy• Support our sales function in the execution of the sales cycle• Build and maintain strong, longstanding relationships between SCC and key vendor sales teams• Help create new work streams with our different Focus Business Units, including Software Sales Specialists, End User Compute and Networking and Security teams• Plan and run relevant solution-led marketing campaigns with a view to drive ROI and new logoWorking with distribution• Leverage our partnership with distribution to accelerate sales and take advantage of their value-add• Work as mediator when the Vendor-Distribution-Reseller model breaks downIn my time at SCC I built longstanding relationships from the ground up across a wide spectrum of IT channel partners
