Research Associate Ii (Sr. Associate Scientist)
CurrentResearch Associate II - Translational Research Core Laboratory (TCL)Work on glucokinase hyperinsulinism (GK-HI) included biochemical and PK characterization of patients with unknown glucokinase mutations in order to determine a reliable method for future diagnosis of this ailment (please see list of publications and presentations).Biochemical assay design, development, validation and implementation (Meso Scale Discovery electrochemiluminescence (ECL) platform (SI6000) and general ELISA assay spectrophotometric platforms (using Molecular Devices M5 and M5e models). Design and development of assays include antibody pair selection, antibody conjugation, assay sensitivity improvement, mitigating drug and heterophillic antibody interference, and validation for use with pediatric samples of limited volume). Work closely and foster relationships with Principal Investigator groups, Federal Agencies (NIH, etc.) and institutional departments as part of responsibilities heading the biochemistry core lab of the clinical translational laboratory at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Keep the lab in compliance with federal standards for College of American Pathologists (CAP) certification required for diagnostic testing.Research Associate II - Translational Research Core Laboratory (TCL)January 2018 - PresentResearch Associate I - Clinical Translational Research Center (CTRC)September 2012 - December 2017Senior Research Assistant - General Clinical Research Center (GCRC)October 2007 – September 2012Research Assistant - General Clinical Research Center (GCRC)March 2004 – October 2007
