With excellent organizational skills, communication and presentation capabilities. I have successfully designed, developed and implemented multiple basic, translational and clinical projects. A self-motivated scientist and a great team player who now leads his own lab. I have trained young fellow scientists and worked successfully with many collaborators throughout my research career. I am looking forward to working in a stimulating and challenging environment of Biomedical Research.

My goal is to understand a clinical problem from biological perspective en route for possible breakthrough in therapeutics using basic and translational research tools.

My research emphasizes the involvement of vascular endothelium in cellular and molecular mechanism of this multi-organ disease process. I have generated a clinically relevant in vivo model of acute chest syndrome in sickle cell disease. The work, directing a paradigm-shift in understanding the disease biology and possible effective therapeutics, has been applied for patent and published in Journal of Clinical Investigation (JCI).

My study embraced the field of thrombosis and hemostasis investigating the biology of tissue factor and factor VIIa in context to human diseases like hemophilia and stroke. My unique contribution of identifying factor VIIa as a ligand of endothelial protein C receptor (EPCR), published in Journal of Biological Chemistry (JBC) and Blood, brought much attention in the area of endothelial signaling. This is when my interests inclined to hematology and vascular biology.
