As a WHS (Work Health and Safety) advisor in the transport industry, my role involves in various responsibilities to ensure the health and safety of employees in the workplace. 1. Conducting risk assessments: Identifying potential hazards in the workplace, such as vehicle accidents, manual handling injuries, or exposure to hazardous substances, and assessing the level of risk they pose to employees.2. Developing safety policies and procedures: Creating and implementing safety protocols, guidelines, and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries in the workplace, such as safe driving practices, proper lifting techniques, and emergency response plans.3. Providing safety training: Conducting training sessions for employees on workplace health and safety practices, including how to use safety equipment, follow safety protocols, and report any safety concerns.4. Investigating incidents: Responding to and investigating workplace incidents, accidents, or near misses to determine the root cause and prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future.5. Ensuring compliance: Keeping up to date with relevant health and safety regulations, standards, and best practices in the transport industry to ensure compliance and minimize risks.6. Collaborating with stakeholders: Working closely with management, employees, and external stakeholders to promote a culture of safety, raise awareness about health and safety issues, and drive continuous improvement in workplace safety practices.
