Samit Bhatta is an experienced luxury jewellery industry sales and marketing professional with a 25+ years career to deliver on prestigious and iconic multinational jewellery brands like De Beers (India), Damas (Middle East), DMCC (Dubai and India) & The Retail Jeweller Media (India, Middle East).Samit as the General Manager (Sales and Marketing, Damas) is credited with pioneering middle east’s sensational gold youth brand launch along with the team of World Gold Council – “Farfasha” with arab youth icon Nancy Ajram in the period 2005 - 2007.Samit had also left DTC (a De Beers group Company) in 2005 after a 8 year career, as the National Sales and Marketing Manager (India) on a high note. He had just completed a nationwide diamond-marketing programme, which saw a jump in the market size from $350 million to $3 billion in eight years stimulated with launch of 4 pioneering consumer brands Nakshatra, Asmi, Sangini and Arisia solitaires. In 2007-2009, he had a stint as GM (India and ME), IDL DMCC and launched diamond and jewelry certification. Samit has been a distinguished speaker and panelist at the Retail Gulf Congress in Dubai (2006) and Gulf Marketing Review’s “Marketing to Women” conference (2006). He is also the recipient of the Gulf Marketing review’s prestigious marketing awards for the Best Brand Launch (2006) and the Best Brand Alliance marketing for Damas (2007).From 2010, Samit turned an entrepreneur is now the Co-Owner of The Retail Jeweller Media and Events Organization for India and Middle East markets. He is leading a team of high quality professionals in building Jewelry industry's first "Knowledge based media corporate". The Retail Jeweller is India's favourite business magazine read by 12,500 retailers across 315 cities of India. The group also organises India most elite Jewellery events - Retail Jeweller India Awards (www.retailjewellerindiaawards.com) ; and Retail Jeweller India Forum (www.retailjewellerindiaforum.com). From 2019, Retail Jeweller World website and Events (Retail Jeweller Dubai Forum and Awards) was launched at a glittering event in Dubai. Post the pandemic Samit and is strategic team are working to expand the group's reach to Middle East, Africa and CIS regions.
