Systagenix is focused on bringing state-of-the-art diagnostics technology to the chronic wound care space. Formerly J&J Advanced Wound Care, Systagenix acquired O2 Insights in June 2012 and is working towards developing and releasing the oxygen sensing platform for wound care applications. As a consultant in this process, key responsibilities included: - Working in collaboration with executive and engineering teams across two continents to successfully meet key product development milestones- Identifying, developing and implementing the best regulatory pathway for the product in collaboration with consultants and other team members- Identifying and filing on intellectual property opportunities encountered during product development

O2 Insights is a company focused on developing the world's first quick, simple, noninvasive test for identification of chronic wound patients in need of revascularization. The company licensed technology developed by researchers at Ohio State University and was sold to Systagenix in June, 2012. Key responsibilities included:- Identifying commercial opportunity and addressable need for the O2 Insights technology - Early stage development of technology and validation of technical feasibility- Establishing relationships with key opinion leaders in the space to refine the product concept and validate the need- Developing regulatory and reimbursement strategy for the company in conjunction with domain experts and consultants- Co-leading the company through licensing negotiations with Ohio State University- Co-leading the company through due diligence with venture and strategic investors, ultimately leading to the successful sale of the company to Systagenix in June, 2012

Earned a PhD in Biomedical Engineering over 4+ years under the guidance of Professor Stephen Lee. While at Ohio State, held positions as Graduate Enrichment Fellow, Teaching Assistant, and Research Associate. Research focused on electrochemical detection of protein binding in vivo. Authored 12 research articles in peer-reviewed journals on biochemical sensing of proteins. Served as reviewer for several prominent journals including Applied Physics Letters, Biosensors & Bioelectronics, and IEEE Sensors.
