In this contract role, I was responsible for events within the Treasury Casino and Hotel buildings, from initial enquiry, through to handover to Operations teams on event day. This included creating personalised proposals, contracting, invoicing and coordinating events for corporate, private, wedding and internal clients. I was involved in developing marketing collateral such as flyers, menus and packages, as well participating in sales activities including expos, showcases and famils.

As Ekka Events Coordinator, I was responsible for the coordination of internal and external events held at venues across the Brisbane Showgrounds, in the lead up to and during the Royal Queensland Show (Ekka). I had a primary focus on VIP functions over the 10 days of the Ekka, where we played host to numerous dignitaries. In this role, I liased with clients to determine event requirements and communicated through to RNA teams as appropriate. It was essential to develop and maintain relationships with these teams as well as external suppliers to ensure seamless delivery of client requests.

As a Food and Beverage Manager, I oversaw beverage, equipment and staffing costs for functions and concessional catering through rostering and P&L and End of Month reporting. I lead, trained, rostered and developed the front of house team (includes Food & Beverage staff, Floor Coordinators, Housekeeping and Customer Relations Attendants).The role involves building relationships with various stakeholders, as well as liaising with internal and external event planners to execute briefs and plan accordingly. I have developed a number of standard operating procedures to improve staff performance, presentation and professionalism for various events across Brisbane Showgrounds, including Royal International Convention Centre.

Hired to ensure the efficient and effective coordination, operation and management of functions, my role as Operations Manager involved logistical coordination of operations.With responsibility for recruitment, training, rostering and development of the operations team, I successfully planned the operation of catering outlets at Amaroo Festival, 2012; the Santos Marquee and Speigeltent at Brisbane Festival, 2012; and contributed to a successful tender for Exclusive Caterer contract at roomthreesixty, 2012.

As Functions and Operations Coordinator, I worked with clients from initial enquiry through to execution and post-event reporting and feedback. I liaised with suppliers and venues; ran pre-event site inspections; and managed the set up, service and pack down of events.
