MSci project in the lab of Dr Alexandra Davies, focussing on investigating the role of the AP-5 complex in the rare neurodegenerative disease Hereditary Spastic Paraplegia. Project work focuses on optimising a LysoIP workflow to extract lysosomes from iPSC-derived neuronal cell lines for mass-spectrometry based proteomics.

Had the opportunity to carry out a 2-month internship at the MRC PPU in the University of Dundee where I investigated how the expression of the protein phosphatase PPM1H changes in response to mitochondrial and autophagic stress.

◾ Providing an efficient and friendly service to customers and maintaining store standards. Responsibilities include processing till transactions, handling returns, placing orders, replenishing stock, tidying the store, packaging orders and removing overstock.◾ Working with other team members to make sure no department is understaffed, all customers are helped as quickly as possible and the store is tidy for opening the next day.◾ On-the-job training in multiple departments e.g. in the stockroom, packaging orders for delivery, taking furniture orders. Generic training has also been completed in manual handling, fire safety, fraud prevention, till operations and data privacy.
