I worked at Peck & Bushel seasonally for about 6 years. Typically, I worked from early April until late October. During this time, I would complete the various projects that needed to be done around the orchard. These jobs include planting new trees every spring and preparing the existing trees for the coming summer, thinning the apple trees during summer, and harvesting and selling apples during the fall. During the inter months, I provided maintenance for the farm equipment. In addition to tree care, I worked closely with a team of other young men and women to landscape around the barn and make artful cabinets for the barn.

As an ax throwing coach, I was responsible for making sure that customers had fun safely during their one-hour ax throwing sessions. The groups that I coached ranged from one individual to groups of 20 or more. Being an ax throwing coach taught me the importance of listening to the concerns of customers, as well as excellent customer service skills. I worked as an ax throwing coach over the summer and over winter break, and I plan on working as an ax throwing coach over the summer as well.

I worked sporadically at Top Gear Performance as help was needed since March of 2016, and then full-time over winter break during my Freshman and sophomore years at UW-Platteville. Top Gear Performance is an automotive shop in Ixonia, Wisconsin that specializes in high-horsepower diesel applications. As a technician at Top Gear, I was responsible for removing transmissions from diesel trucks, disassembling and organizing transmissions, and consulting with customers.

As an engineering intern, I was involved in a variety of projects and gained crucial career experience. While at Farris, I was responsible for checking in packages and marking their location in an Excel spreadsheet, making parts on a manual Bridgeport mill, assembling machines based off of engineering drawings, running and testing machines, and entering data into a computer. I worked at Farris Automated Systems in the afternoon as a part of the Wisconsin Youth Apprenticeship Program.
