The Retail Design Internship includes two projects that will be completed concurrently. The first project will focus on the produce department within the Meijer Supercenter and reinventing it. This department reinvention can range from fixture and layout design to interior finish updates, to the design of permanent graphics. The other project will have the intern designing a complete interior design package for Meijer’s unique Market Format. This project includes the selection of all interior finishes and the design and placement of all permanent graphics. For each project, actual category owners will be the reviewers of the intern’s designs, and a series of presentations will be scheduled, resulting in a final presentation where the intern gains final alignment on their design.
