I’m the Laboratory Manager for Hydac Technology, a science enthusiast focused on the importance of condition monitoring in all things hydraulics. In this role, I spend the majority of my time performing various regular testing protocols and overseeing the day-to-day running of the laboratory. A large amount of my time is spent maintaining contact with those seeking technical advice, be it on specific analysis reports or condition monitoring in general. We are constantly on the lookout for new and exciting project work; whether through the use of new equipment or our continually improving knowledge. One of our most interesting projects has been the use of the lab as a service tool to reiterate Hydac's excellent customer care, solving significant oil filtration problems through analytical techniques accompanied with theoretical prowess. Not only did we aid the customer, but successfully determining the cause and solution was greatly rewarding.Before joining Hydac, I worked for Nationwide Building Society as a Customer Service Advisor; a role which provided me with transferable skills in sales and communication, these being key in my current role.I’m truly passionate about the work I do and I'm always eager to connect with like-minded science enthusiasts. While I enjoy all aspects of my job, I think the most enjoyable feature is the project work. These projects are often completely customer dependent and therefore differ greatly in nature – from identifying the cause of premature filter element use, to devising a component cleanliness standard through experimental means.I have A Levels in Chemistry, Biology and Psychology form Cirencester College and am continually learning through my membership of STLE (the Society of Tribologists and Lubrication Engineers).I’m always interested in hearing from former colleagues, managers, or just people who share an aptitude for science, so feel free to contact me if you’d like to connect.
