Building relationships is good for business and good for the soul. Much of my work as a marketing manager is, by design, impersonal. I’m reaching out to people I don’t know at the top of the marketing funnel, trying to draw them into my world. However, the messages I design depend on collaboration with my colleagues. I can do my job better when I am in relationship with the experts that I work with.I believe in grassroots campaigns, staying curious, being authentic, and engaging inclusively. Part of what I do is nurture employee engagement for corporate and individual brand awareness. I prefer reaching out one-on-one rather than communicating en masse. When people understand that you value them as individuals, the work you both create can become richer and more satisfying.
