HandsOn Hong Kong is a local charity whose mission is to empower everyone in Hong Kong to volunteer by developing service programs in partnership with the city's under-served non-profit organizations and connecting them with the volunteer manpower they need to achieve their mission.I was approached by HandsOn to:- Help build a template website entity that should be easy to duplicate and reuse- Provide consultation and recommendations on how to manage multiple instances of the entity- Analyse designs provided by a third-party provider to ensure it meets UX and accessibility standards- Research, recommend and setup a suitable hosting provider- Setup project management system for better task management and visibility and a single source of truth- Provide estimates and timelines to meet the launch deadline. As well as delegate tasks to other project members- Set up GitHub repo for code maintenance- Explore various plugins and solutions including translation, CRM integration, calendar integration- Provide training and documentation to website maintainers- Migrate a different website into the newly set up hosting provider

Day-to-day tasks include custom Drupal module and theme development, reviewing code,devops and maintenance and mentoring junior staff. Throughout this time, I have beenheavily involved in several projects using a wide range of technologies, producing standardcompliant, stable code and ensuring sites are met with security measures as necessary.At times, it was also my responsibility to take the technical lead of project teams being theprimary point of contact for code repository management, staff mentorship, sitedeployment, engaging with stakeholders, driving best practices as well as sizing andplanning of upcoming requirements.

I was accountable for leading the front-end design and development for web and mobile applications. Not only did I work closely with the back-end team; but I also helped build rapports with clients, communicating directly with them to understand their business needs and how we can help, leading them all the way to the finished product. I had also worked with CEOs and Directors high up the company group hierarchy.I joined Appadoodle during its start-up period and was challenged with helping the company set up with business and development infrastructures. After proving successful, I attended client meetings and exhibitions to increase the business.During my time at Appadoodle I worked with many clients from start-ups and small businesses to bigger organisations such as the NHS and Ann Summers - becoming the Internal Product Owner for the Front-end for the latter.
